‘The Hunger Games’: Mattel debuts Katniss Everdeen Barbie — EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK | PopWatch | EW.com
Now, EW is happy to share the exclusive first look at the iconic heroine after being filtered through Mattel’s Barbie-making factory. This Katniss isn’t wearing her reaping dress — instead, and rather fittingly, she’s wearing what she wore into the Games [black windbreaker with red trim, black t-shirt, and gray cargo pants] and comes complete with a miniature mockingjay pin, [silver] bow and arrow[s], forest-tromping boots, and that one, plump braid.
And does not look shit like Jennifer Lawrence, FYI.
@cleolinda: Admit it, Effie Trinket Barbie would be genius. RT @nprmonkeysee: Oh, look. Katniss Barbie.
@makeitsuntory: I’ll buy Effie Barbie if she ever comes with a mahogany table.
[MAHHHHHHAHHHHHGANYYYYY]
@ZMarriott: I stand by my original statement: Katniss would burn that Barbie & roast squirrels over the flames.
@cleolinda: See, I think Barbie is the wrong medium for Katniss—for the same reason it’s perfect for Effie.
@ZMarriott: Precisely. Some charas are just not cut out to be Barbie-fied. Ripley, Sarah Connor…Katniss. Doesn’t work.
@ZMarriott: I’d buy an Effie Trinket in a red hot moment, tho.
@cleolinda: Honestly, an Effie Barbie sort of becomes a commentary on both Effie AND Barbie. That’s what I like about the idea.
@ZMarriott: Bc Effie would be *thrilled* by a Barbie of her - and Barbie wldn’t have any idea what they were saying about their company. Heh.
@cleolinda: I also like the idea that the inhuman Barbie proportions are something the Capitol fashionistas would get surgery to emulate.
@ZMarriott: LOL! ‘I love your earrings, Effie! Where did u get them?’ / ‘Oh, thank u! They’re my kidneys. They don’t fit under this corset’.
@cleolinda: “I didn’t ever want to wear anything but high heels anyway!”
@ZMarriott: “Now I can’t feel my feet at all - it’s like they’re completely dead! So convenient!”

totally gonna do that with my kid one day!!
